I thought I'd start a discussion with some tips and tricks I've picked up from attending previous Resosummits. Please add your advice and experience as you like.
- Talk to everybody! I haven't been bitten once at Resosummit.
- Stay hydrated. There will be water machines in the lobby and elsewhere.
- If you need a break, there are plenty of dining options a very short walk away. I like the San Antonio Taco Company because it's fast and cheap. The Mellow Mushroom has good pizza.
- Diagonally across the street from the Station Inn is the Turnip Truck Natural Market, sort of a Whole Foods type grocery and deli. They have very good food and are a good choice for a fast meal before the Station Inn (unless you prefer the pizza at the Station Inn). There's also a frozen yogurt shop in that same complex.
SOLD TO KODIAKRESO!
For Sale: Wechter Scheerhorn RS-6510 "f-hole" mahogany dobro. It is in great condition, hardly out of the house (I bought a bona-fide Scheerhorn not long after this purchase).
It was set-up with a new cone and a Schertler pick-up by Tim Scheerhorn. The new cone is NOT one the new Scheerhorn cones that Tim makes, it was an upgrade over the "original" cone (according to Tim Scheerhorn).
The case is in good condition, but is kind of cheap (it's the original case that Wechter sold with this model). No dings.
$600 + shipping + insurance.

I just wanted to post an update. About three weeks ago, I took my Scheerhorn over to Tim's shop for a set up. The set up included replacing my Quarterman cone with Tim's cone. I thought the guitar sounded mighty fine before the set up, but I was really impressed with it after Tim swapped out the cone. I wanted to give the cone a little time to settle in and give the other parts some time to adjust. After playing it out today, I can say that the difference between pre set up and post set up is completely evident and amazing. Never before has this guitar sounded clearer or cleaner. Tim's cone has lent this guitar a power, a sparkle and a crisp, clean tone it didn't have before. I can only assume it will continue to open and develop as I continue to play it. This was the best money I've spent all summer!
