Yes, I was a bit hesitant at first because my guitar sounds exactly the way I want it to and I'm very particular, but after Dad promised me I would like it and if I didn't he would put the old setup back in, I agreed. First he put in a ebony capped maple bridge (which is my favorite), it kept all the traits I love about my guitar but defiantly made it louder with more bottom end.
Then last Friday he put the Fishman in, I admit I was scared after hearing about how it changes the acoustic tone, but I will say, if it changed the tone it was VERY minimal, and if he hadn't told me and done it in the middle of the night I don't think I would have ever noticed w/o looking at it.

Does the modification change the overall weight of the spider and insert assembly?
I don't think so, your removing a small amount of cast alum. and replacing it with wood. Which are very close in weight, at least in this small of scale.

The spider in my guitar and the spiders in the photos are Schoonover spiders, but the mods. can be made to a #14.
Man, that new unit looks sharp!
That is what I call inovation. Very cool idea. The old man has some very tastful ideas. Looks like machinist work. That just may go into my Gresham.
Thanks Kyle.
