I've been aware of this community for a while and thought it was about time I joined. I'm a late-middle-aged picker, and I've discovered that of the various well-loved instruments I own, the ones I enjoy most are played with a bar. (Though no longer in a bar.) I have an 80's OMI Dobro that's had the "Beard Setup" done on it and a Lazy River spruce-and-walnut weiss. I'll sing the praises of either Beard's work or Rance White (Lazy River) to whomever will listen.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to being part of this thing, sharing the love of all things with square necks, and to learning from all you experienced reso folks.

Hey Tom, glad to see you here!
A walnut-spruce Lazy River? That might warrant posting a photograph for the other late-middle-aged pickers to look at. But don't forget a shot of the back.

Welcome, Tom!
It takes a little while, but you'll know that you are pretty much a "card carrying" regular member once you get used to Preston.
I'm still working to qualify for that card. Mark, how much would you take for yours?

I'm okay with Preston. He put one of the first dings in my Harper and has lived to tell the tale!
Welcome, Tom!

If someone dinged my dobro, I would have a conniption fit.
-Preston forgot three Norsemen.. -Anyway, you are most welcome!
Welcome Tom, This is a great place to trade info and I appreciate ALL of Preston's comments.
Oh my gosh, Dave, I did do that. And I see you aint forgot either.
I had my first big one on my Gresham at the Summit, year before last year. Someone with snaps on their leg pants pocket forgot they had um. Got the back pretty good. Just a character mark, Dave said.
