Does anyone have a comment to make regarding the "pullability" of 1650s vs J-42s? My impression is that it's easier to pull the 2nd (018 in both cases) up two halftones with 1650s. Maybe it's just me.
Thanks for your feedback (if any ;)

I have had the chance to try two sets of GHS TS1600. Compared to the Musician's Friend and Just Strings bulk sets, I think they sound much better on the bass strings (5th and 6th strings) and seem to last a bit longer. Purchased a dozen sets from AMT, and with Erik's pricing there is little motivation to go back to the bulk sets.

I've been using the TS1600's for awhile and I agree with the longevity, they do seem to last longer. I've come to a point where I will use only EJ42's or TS1600's,

I've ordered a bunch of 1650's from Eric but I also ordered some of the Martin strings he is handeling. I have never heard of this particular series but Eric told me he really liked them and they seem to last a little longer so I'll give them a try.

Mike,
I'm very happy with the bulk sets from AMT. I have the 1650's and they are very bright - great prices too.
I gave a set of 1650's to Freddy - maybe he'll chime in.

Has anyone ever tried a full set of EJ17s? or are the .17 and .13 just too light?

I don't know of any one playing this instrument, either pro or amateur, that uses anything lighter than .016 on the first string.
Thanks Markin. That's what I thought. Someone at a very reputable guitar store I frequent is a stone cold idiot.
