Over the weekend I had a chance to sit down and really smoke over the Fishook guitars that JD Myers is building and I got to say the craftsmanship and playability and over all look and design of these wonderful reso's blew me away. I had the chance to play a Brazilian Rosewood and Spruce and my goodness it's all I could do not to drool! The tone on these are very unique and unlike any guitar I have ever played with very deep throaty growling tones on the low end and wonderful mids that punch and balance out to the lows and the highs were not to tingy nor piercing but more loud and tonal than any other guitar I have played. Owning a 79 RQ mahogany, 96 Scheerhorn, 97 Scheerhorn,01 Scheerhorn, and Beard JD model I know good guitars and I gotta say I'm looking to JD Myers for my next guitar!!!!!

I bought a pre-played :) maple Fishook in May and I sure like it.  It is loud but still has good tone.  Deep low end but good mids and clear highs.  I am still a low mileage Reso player and it is more Reso than I am player.  If I ever decide to get a new Reso in the future I would sure talk to JD.

Johnny Bellar played my mine on stage at ResoGat this year and it really stood out.  JD seems to have something figured out.  I played it side by side with a Scheerhorn last month and it definitely has a different tone, its own unique voice. Not better or worse, just different (to my ears anyway...).

It is nice to have a choice of so many really good builders out there these days.  We live in a great era for acoustic music.

Well I have been really lucky to own some killer guitars but my prob is that I'm always broke and having to sell my guitars! It's a shame that once you own something so nice and you love the way it plays and sounds you have to sell it off!!! lol oh well life goes on

Brazilian Rosewood ,Red Spruce Top , Old Black Walnut neck stock

This guitar has those unique Brazilian rosewood spiders in the back . Two larger , and if you look close 6 more small spiders in the lowerbout , 3 on each edge . It also has a feather drapeing down from the large spiders . Taptone is outstanding .
