Hi all,

last week I visited the Musikmesse in my hometown Frankfurt am Main Germany. I will give you some infos I got from different mostly European reso-related manufacturers. I divide the report in a few chunks to make it more readable.

Traditionally the Musikmesse is not a very reso-oriented fair, although it is the biggest fair of its kind worldwide. Especially the North American based reso-manufacturers are not represented at all. But when you look at the European reso-market, the costs and the crisis it is not surprising.

Let me start with the homeland of the Dopeyras:

Amistar: I was very hopefull that I am able to test the new squareneck tricone model, which is very similiar to the Randy Kohrs Signature model, but Frantisek the head of Amistar said that they only build them when ordered. He mentioned a delivery time of three month and you can have every specification you like. If you ever visit Prague (highly recommended by the author) on your trip to Europe you can visit the Amistar workshop too.

Rozawood: Last year I was discovering the Rozawood booth for the first time and played their very nice squareneck reso. This year they got a new model which is an archback model. This is a real beauty with a spruce top and maple back and sides. As far as it was possible to hear in such a loud environment it has a very nice deep tone and also brilliant highs and it plays fantastically. I got these pic directly from Rozawood. Thanks for that.
