Please read the following instructions before trying to post a YouTube video

For those who enjoy posting videos to YouTube, you can now embed those videos into your reso-nation forum posts by pasting and highlighting the video's url into your message, and then clicking on the "YouTube" button before posting. It will wrap the url with [ you tube ] [ /you tube] tags which will format the html correctly and pull in the video content you specify.

**The url is expected to be in the following format**

http://www.youtube.com/v/YOUR-VIDEO-ID-HERE

If your video doesn't display correctly, please make sure the url is formatted correctly.

This means go to YouTube, select the text in the "Code" box, such as

<object width="425" height="355"><br />
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nudiAFnbYg0&rel=1"></param>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nudiAFnbYg0&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

and copy (CTRL-C works).

Then select the "YouTub" button on R-N.

Next, paste the text from YouTube (CTRL-V works) and hit the "YouTub" box again to close the tag.

Now the important part! Before "submitting" your message, edit everything out between the YouTube tags except the actual URL, like this: http://www.youtube.com/v/nudiAFnbYg0&rel=1
That is all you need between the "YouTube" tags for R-N...R-N doesn't know what to do with all that extra stuff, and if you don't edit it out, the video will not display inline on R-N. Yes, there are other ways of doing, this, but this is the easiest for me to explain. ;-)

Finally, and this is a good idea for most posts, hit the "Preview" button to make sure everything displays the way you want it to. If not, go back and fix. Lather, rinse, repeat.
