Classifieds Usage Guidelines
The official intent of the classifieds section of Reso-Nation is to facilitate a marketplace where individuals (non-commercial
entities*) can buy, sell, and trade used (even if lightly) merchandise
that pertains to the resophonic guitar market within a reasonable
degree of interpretation, and in a non-commercial* capacity.
In other words, unless explicitly permitted, we don’t want companies selling business assets through the classifieds.
We do want individuals selling personal property.
A luthier selling a new guitar that isn’t previously owned is against the policy.*
A luthier selling a personal guitar that he’s owned and played for some time is fine as long as it is marketed as a “used” / “like new” instrument. Abuse of this technicality will not be tolerated.
A member selling a used accessory and decides to sell it (as “like new”) is permitted.
This policy has caused some confusion amongst members despite our record of maintaining and enforcing consistent boundaries with regards to the policy. If, after acknowledging the above guidelines, you still have questions regarding the legitimacy of your item being listed, ask before you post.
If your role and intent are appropriate according to the above policy, you may post your item to the classifieds.
Posts in violation of any tenet of the above guidelines will be removed at our discretion.
* Please list only items strictly related to this audience. Take all negotiations, offers and transaction details offline. Violative posts will be annihilated. We offer advertising packages (which include a dedicated forum where items can be sold) for those who desire to use RN as their web advertising presence.
* Please mark listings with the appropriate "For Sale" or "Wanted" barter type. Also, update your listings to "Pending" or "Inactive" when appropriate. Consistently updating these attributes keep the classisfieds organized in a chronological and relevant manner.
* With the exception of advertising sponsors explicitly authorized to post commercial listings.
