SOLD - Gold Tone SM Weissenborn copy with modifications

I bought this guitar a year ago and fell in love with the shimmery Weissenborn sound. I've recently received a Bear Creek MK Weissenborn copy, so it's time to send this one to its new owner.

I made some changes to this guitar. The first was a new set of tuners from Stew Mac (much better!). Despite all my precautions, I tore out some of the generously applied finish on the headstock. I'll post a picture of that.

I felt stymied by the tension restrictions on this guitar (a medium gauge set of regular guitar strings is all the tension it was built for), so I added bridge doctor. As a result, the guitar has a new, much more attractive MOP dot on the bridge and a new strap pin. The bridge doctor added better string separation, more bass and more volume. I've had a set of D'Addario resonator strings on it for the past few months, tuned to either open D or open (low) G.  There has been no distortion of the top. Recently I swapped the .056 for a .059.

I shimmed up the nut and replaced the original plastic bridge pins (which were trashed) with ebony. Each of these had a small, but noticeable effect on the sound.

I have no case for this guitar, but will pack it well in a big box. I'm asking $425 which includes shipping and insurance within the CONUS. Paypal or a check are both OK. I can be reached at zizzlah (at) mac (dot) com   Thank you for looking.
