Here's my first piece in a D tuning. Actually it's a D major 7 tuning. From low to high: D A D F# A C#. The strings are a G tuning set, so I guess I should put on a D tuning set to get the right tension. :) I'm playing my Beard Vintage R, using the KM 184 Neumann microphone. And I can hear I've been a little heavy on the reverb :lol: Anyhow, hope you like it.

this is a song by Warren Zevon. One of the last songs he wrote before he died of cancer in 2003.

This song is so beautiful, and I wasn't sure if I dared to post it here, 'cause I'm not sure if I do it justice..

But I need to share this with you, and please check out the original, cause it's heartbreaking to hear the guy sing it. You can hear he's struggling..

I'm singing, playing guitar, playing my Beard E and mandolin on this one.

It's been a while since I posted a dobro instrumental, so I thought it was about time

It's a tune I wrote this morning and it's a one take, and no overdubs.

The signal chain is a Neumann U87 --> Vintech x73i pre amp --> Chandler Germanium Compressor --> RME ADI-2 converter --> Cubase 4.

I close mic'ed the Beard E to get the "bassy" feeling, and I think the sound fits the tune well.

I was fooling around with my old pal Beard Vintage R this morning and this is what came out of it

The guitar was all dusty 'cause I haven't played it for a long while. The strings are really old, so therefore the intens buzz on the first string (yes, I will change them soon )

But I'm so in love with the tone of this guitar, so as I've mentioned earlier, I'm glad I didn't sell it.

(at some point I planned to sell it to finance a computer, what was I thinking!! )

I play all the instruments, and I didn't quite know what to call the song, but it's kinda funky so I called it Funkygrass.

Not very innovative, I know..

Hey guys, here's my version of Coldplay's fantastic song "Trouble".

But I wanted to try it with a bluegrass arrangement.

As usual I'm playing all the instruments (cause I have no friends)

And it's in the key of A with standard G tuning.

First I want to say, this thing REALLY rocks!!

I used it at a gig this weekend, and it blew me ( and the sound engineer ) away!

That may not be news to some of you, but I'm really excited

In this clip, I recorded my Beard E with my Neumann KM 184 and simultaneous recorded the Aura with the preset 14. Which is a Neumann KM 84 simulation, which again is not far from the KM 184.

Now folks, this clip have no eq, compression or effects, just so that you can hear the real difference.

The Aura sounds amazingly realistic, and with some tweak of the eq, I'd probably get them pretty close.

But again I'm not really sure I want to, because I like the Aura sound too..
